Nazaré is a coastal village in Portugal. I have no clue why Citroën named a car after this village. It is certain however that the logo was inspired by the fishing boats of the region.
Very little is known about the car. It seems that the Nazaré came in at least three colours, yellow, beige and blue, seen the folders and the sparse photos of surviving cars. It is shown in a 1975 Portugese folder (see the blue and beige card), however without being mentioned. The pictures of the surviving cars (yellow and beige) are contradictionary to that year. They sho the black doorhandles. The upholstery is said to be specific to the Nazaré, although I can't get confirmation on that. The same goes for the blue circle mounted on the front bumper. I've asked Citroën Portugal for more information. |
